Iron Workers Celebrate Biden Administration’s Commitment to Good Union Jobs with Willow Project

Mar 15, 2023

The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers welcomes and supports the U.S. Department of Interior’s approval to begin construction of the Willow Project in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve. This project will create long-lasting jobs for Alaska’s ironworkers and illustrates the Biden administration’s commitment to creating good, union jobs across the nation.

“These are the type of projects that tend to only come around once in a generation,” said Anthony Ladd, business manager of Iron Workers Local 751 in Anchorage. “Jobs on the Willow Project are important because they’ll give ironworkers, and all working Alaskans, the opportunity to provide for our families with a fair wage and decent benefits for years to come.”

We recognize this decision was not made lightly and commend the Biden administration and Alaska’s congressional delegation for their continued efforts to reach bipartisan agreements that benefit working families and our communities.
